Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese and Freixenet, Oh My!

Each year, the Spanish sparkling wine juggernaut Freixenet produces a long-format TV commercial to promote its bubbles during the holidays. This year, it was Martin Scorsese’s turn at bat and he decided to do a spot that combines, mainly, THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH with NORTH BY NORTHWEST, as well as references to several other movies as well as the signature style of Hitchcock overall.

Hands down, this is the most beautiful, brilliant, hilarioustribute to Hitchcock. Ever. In 9 minutes, I think it trumps Mel Brooks' HIGH ANXIETY as a parody, which, for all of the fun it has withHitchcock, is Mel Brooks through and through. Wow.
